Sid's Interiors did the carpeting,
console and installed three position electric seat heaters (Off/100F/115F).

A good shot of the safety cage with side bars, front loop,
seat supports and transmission support. |

|
The central tunnel was constructed. This also shows
the seats used, they had to be smaller than the Spitfire because the side
safety bars reduced cockpit width. |
|
|
Floorboards are in, and the top of the central tunnel is
fabricated. There is lots left to do, the sheet metal needs to be
covered with brown/beige liner, black carpets molded to the floor and
tunnel, roll bar padding will be used extensively through the cockpit,
gauges need to be added to the console, and I haven't yet figured out
where the cup holder will be located. |

|
Seat covers and 5 point
harnesses are installed. |

Matching Autometer Pro-Comp Ultra Light
guages set off the burl veneer. |
|
|
Although not functional, I kept the heater
and defrost switches to retain the original Spitfire look. |
|
|
It's not perfect, the redwood burl veneer
was very wavy and thin, so several cracks developed during drying.
Next time, I'll find an easier veneer to work with. |
